Tips for organization
- Since personal organizing can be very emotionally charged, allow yourself to take baby steps. Don't be too hard on yourself. Learning to be organized isn't easy for everyone.
- Take it one day at a time, it isn't a race.
- Begin organizing and de-cluttering one small space or pile at a time.
- Remember it's just "stuff" and doesn't have legs, so if you start to get overwhelmed, walk away and give yourself a break. The pile will be there when you get back, it won't "walk off" (even if you want it to)
- Figure out what is a reasonable amount of time and what time of day that you can devote to your organizing and stick to it.
- Find out what system works best for you when it comes to paperwork - color coded, type, season, filing, dividers, baskets, etc.
- Above all, always remember we are here to help you succeed so please don't hesitate to call when you are in need of support.
